Pod koniec sierpnia 2021 roku na kanale Chrisa Jericho, ukazał się podcast w którym Rick Rubin przyznał, że pracuje z Red Hot Chili Peppers nad ich najnowszym albumem, nad którym prace są już na ukończeniu! Podkreślił, że John Frusciante powrócił do zespołu i to jest niewiarygodne. Tuż po tym wielkim powrocie w 2019 roku producent został zaproszony na pierwszą próbę RHCP w legendarnym składzie i jak przyznał, z ogromnym wzruszeniem doświadczał chemii panującej pomiędzy muzykami. 

Zobaczenie "tych" ludzi razem w akcji ponownie było dla niego niewiarygodnym przeżyciem. Według tego co mówi Rubin, panowie są bardzo płodni muzycznie i piszą bardzo dużo piosenek. Jeżeli postanowią, że na albumie znajdzie się 12 piosenek, to są w stanie skomponować ich nawet 100, aby mieć z czego wybierać, po tym jak przedyskutują wady i zalety każdej z nich.

At the end of August 2021, a podcast was released on Chris Jericho's channel in which Rick Rubin admitted that he was working with the Red Hot Chili Peppers on their new album, which is almost finished! He stressed that John Frusciante has returned to the band and it is unbelievable. Shortly after this great return in 2019, the producer was invited to the first RHCP attempt in the legendary team and, as he admitted, he experienced the chemistry between the musicians with great emotion.
