Imagine Dragons made us wait three years for their new music. The last album they have released so far is Origins from 2018. Today the group posted two new songs. Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds revealed that the singles Follow You and Cutthroat will be featured on the band's latest album, which they have been working on for three years. For now, however, it is not known what the title of the album will be and when it will be premiered.
What is known is what was the background for the creation of new songs. Follow You was written after Dan and his wife reunited after a seven-month separation. It's a song about love and loyalty and how much commitment it costs to build a lasting relationship. Cutthroat, on the other hand, is about dealing with self-pity and being thankful for everything you have.

"Follow You" uważam za przeciętną piosenkę, którymi będą nas katować radiostacje przez następne pół roku. ;) "Cutthroat" jest zdecydowanie ciekawszym utworem, chociaż nie wiem, czy przypadkiem nie ma tu przerostu formy nad treścią. Tak czy inaczej, aż mnie boli własne gardło słuchając tej piosenki. ;)

Podobnie jak u Szafiry, "Cutthroat" robi lepsze wrażenie. "Follow You" to chyba jeden z gorszych singli Imagine Dragons w ogóle.

Wolę zdecydowanie Imagine Dragons w takim mocniejszym wydaniu. Tak jak moich poprzedników, jak i mnie bardziej przekonuje Cutthroat ;)
